TESTING
DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING
Many businesses have different requirements in regards to the way they Drug & Alcohol Test within their workplace. Your "Fitness for Work" (F.F.W) or Drug & Alcohol Policy is your main defense in supplying your workplace with specific rules that protect the employee as well as the employer. Privacy and confidentiality is my upmost priority when conducting and reviewing policies.
Our main areas of focus for testing is on the following:
-
Random
-
Blanket
-
Cause
-
Shutdowns
-
Incident
-
Fit 4 Work
-
Employment
The Three (3) areas of testing standards are:
-
AS/NZ 4308 2008 (Urine)
-
AS 4760 2006 (Saliva)
-
AS 3547 1997 (Alcohol)
NB: No Standards yet are available for synthetic cannabinoids. This is generally done as a dip test. Alcohol Testing in Urine Test Cups are non-conforming.

Disinfectant
Kits are made up into a handy nap sack (Carry Around)

URINE TESTING

There are many urine cups that are available on the market to use for urine testing. Companies should check their D&A Policy first. If it states a specific cup should be used, then that cup is to be used. However, whatever cup you use you should ensure that your cups meet AS/NZ 4308 (2008) Standards. Please ask your supplier for a "Certificate of Compliance" to ensure that theirs cups conform. We supply and use our cups or yours.
Under Australian Standards, you will be testing for the following six (6) drug classes.
-
Methamphetamines
-
Cocaine
-
Cannabis (THC)
-
Morphine or Opiates
-
Benzodiazepines
-
Amphetamines
Urine Testing is generally a quick (if your donor is able to pass urine) and easy process. This type of testing will give you a reasonably accurate result within a few minutes. If a non-negative result is obtained a further more comprehensive testing is required through a "Chain of Custody" / Pathology Process. (2-3 day result)

SALIVA TESTING
As with Urine testing, there is many Saliva testing devices. At this stage, there is no device that meets
AS 4760 (2006) Standards. Saliva testing is a quick (5 Mins), witnesses testing process that does not require toilet, however, on a non-negative result, your D&A Policy may require you to proceed with a more comprehensive testing process such as Urine. Please check (as with all urine & saliva devices) the drug classes that you are testing for. (Methamphetamines, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Opiates / Morphine, THC (Cannabis), Benzodiazepines)
For Saliva we can test with your devices or supply for testing.

ALCOHOL BREATH TESTING
Statistics show that there is more than double the amount of alcohol relating hospital issues than all of your cannabis/methamphetamines/cocaine. Put together, Alcohol Breath Testing is a quick non-invasive process that will ensure that your staff/personnel are "Fit 4 Work". Please ensure that whatever machines are used in your workplace, AS 3547 1997 Standards are conformed to. Theses hand held machines need to be re-calibrated every six (6) months to meet Australian Standards.
We can come to site for both small / large businesses, mine sites, in the the field and perform this testing ensuring a high standard of privacy and confidentiality.

SYNTHETIC CANNABINOIDS
There is no Australia Standard (yet) for this product. For a more reliable result, a urine sample needs to be sent away to pathology for an accurate result.
